From the field & Into the Studio.


As researchers, we are experienced in a broad range of qualitative methods and will craft a unique approach for your company.
In the last few years, we've shadowed freshmen as they navigated their first semester of college; sat in with patients during doctor’s appointments; and observed homemakers clean from Jinan to Milan.

And as designers, we will help your team wrap their arms and heads around the findings.
We will distill the variety of humanity into a manageable set of personas based real behaviors - not the predictable “Sassy Susans” which give personas a bad name. We’ll make journey maps and network diagrams that your team can stand around, point to and actually base decisions on. We’ll make prototypes to translate what you learned into what you’ll do.

We are designers who do research and researchers who get design.

Ksenia Pachikov   Ksenia works at the intersection of human-centered research, visual communication of insight, and early concept development. She leads research across multiple domains, including media, education, medical, smart devices, and insurance. She started this practice out of the belief that to be effective, research needs to be transparent, efficient and focused on implications. She holds a Master of Design from the Institute of Design in Chicago and has taught at the School of Visual Arts and Parsons the New School for Design.

Ksenia Pachikov

Josué holds degrees in electronics and mental health, is probably enrolled in at least one MOOC right now, and he's always listening to a new audiobook.

Helen Gorokhovsky   A licensed psychotherapist with a masters degree in social work, Helen brings 10+ years of experience of deep listening, probing questioning, and analysis of human cognition to her work in human-centered design. Helen's trauma-informed approach informs how she collaborates with clients and their customers to understand and solve for the root causes of problems.

Jeanine Harriman   Jeanine Harriman is a seasoned UX professional specializing in research and strategy for digital products and services. Before partnering with Field & Studio, Jeanine spent three years as an Executive Director at J.P. Morgan leading innovation initiatives for the Asset Management and Retirement Solutions teams.
